Part of the Ralph Lauren Welington collection, the Colson elevates a timeless sandal silhouette with heritage Ralph Lauren codes, including a polished gold-tone stirrup buckle that secures with a studded haircalf strap and keeper. Designed with an open toe, these 100-mm sandals are made with leopard-print haircalf, which undergoes a multistep artisanal process to achieve its authentic pattern. First, the shoe’s haircalf fabrication is shaved, resulting in hairs that mimic genuine leopard fur. Next, the haircalf is dyed to create the background color, then finally printed with the leopard motif, which is done in various techniques to give the hair a realistic appearance.
